JAHAN AZ ISHQ WA ISHQ AZ SEENA E TUST
SARWARASH AZ MAI DERINA TUST
JUZ EI(N) CHEEZEY NA MI DANIM ZA JIBRAEL
KE UU YAK JOHAR AZ AAINA TUST
This universe is because of ishq (divine love)
And that ishq is from your (pure) heart
Intoxication of your love is like old wine
I know this about Jibrael that he is the reflection of your mirror (aaina e dil).
Allamah Iqbal.

GUL AZ RUKHAT AAMUKHTA NAZUK BADANI RA BADANI RA
BULBUL ZE TU AAKUKHTA SHIREEN SUKHANI RA SUKHANI RA
Flower has learnt tender being from your face
Nightingale has learnt from you the sweet words
HER KUSS KE LUB LA'L TURA DEEDAH BI DIL GUFT
HAQQA KE CHI KHUSH KUNDAH 'AQIQ E YAMANI RA
Who ever saw your radiant lips, praised them
Even the nicely carved carnelian of Yemen
KHAYYAT AZAL DUKHTA BER QAMAT E ZEBA
DAR QUDD TU EI(N) JAMANIH SARO CHAMANI RA
Tailor of eternity has sewed over your pretty stature
This green dress of garden over your body
DAR ISHQ E TU DANDAAN SHIKAST AST BI ULFAT
TU JAMAEH RASANEED OWAIS QARNI RA QARNI RA
In your love teeth are broken, mere due to love
Make this news reach to Owais of Qarn
AZ JAMI BI CHARA RASANEED SALLAMEY
BAR DARGAH DARBAR RASUL E MADANI RA
From poor Jami, reaches salam
To the holy kingdom of Prophet pbuh of Madina
Abdur Rahman Jami.

POETRY OF MOWLA ALI (DIWAAN OF ALI IBN ABI TALIB)
Diwaan of Mowla Ali's poetic collection is wonderful and has mystical power, which covers the theme of Hikmah. Like his prose, recorded in NAHJUL BALAGAH, his poems provide morality and decency. We do not find romance in his poetry like that of other poets of the era. The poetry of ALI is the best example for the generations to learn. Ismaili Da'is had discussed the poetry of Mowla Ali in their works. For example, Syedna Abi Hatim Razi (d.322 AH), Hujjat of jazirah Ray (Iran), during the era of Imam Mahdi had discussed a good collection of the verses of Diwaan e Ali in his book " Kitab al Zinah". Later on in Yemen, Da'i Hatim Mohiyuddin (d.596 AH) provided authentic verse in his book "Al Majalis Hatimiyah". Da'i Idris Imaduddin (d.872 AH) recorded a good poetic collection of Mowla Ali in his book " Uyun al Akhbar".
Few examples from the poetry of Mowla Ali:
FAL HAMDU LILLAHI FARDAN LA SHARIKA LAHU
BARRU BIL ABDE WAL BAQI BILA A'MADI
Hamd (praise) for Allah, Who is peerless, and has no partner, Magnanimous upon people and ever living without any end.
ALLAHU AKRAMNA BEY NASARE NABIYEHI
WA BAN'A AQAMA DAEM, AL ISLAMI
Allah granted us honor to help His Nabi, and through us established "Daem'ul Islam", the pillars of Islam. (Qadi Noa'man wrote the famous book Daem' ul Islam).
WA BINA A'ZA NABIYAHU WA KITABAHU
WA A'ZZANA BIN NASARE WAL AQD'AMI
He made us help His Nabi overpower his opponents and spread Quran, and provided us an opportunity to defend him and Islam.
SABAQTUKUM ILAL ISLAMI TURRAN
GHULLAMAN MA BALAGHTU AWANA HULMI
I have leading position over all of you in having responded to the Dawah of Islam from very beginning.
ANAL LAZI SAMMATNI UMMI HAIYDARAH
ZIRGGHAMU A'JAMIN WA LAIYSUN QASWARAH
I am the one, who has been named LION by my mother, such a LION who never turns back until he tears off enemies (of Islam).
AYYU'HAL FAKHIRU JAHLAN BIN NASABI
INNA'MAN N'ASU LI UMMIN WA LI ABBI
Due to narrow mindedness and short understanding you are proud of your lineage and family tree; otherwise for all people there is one mother and one father. ( Mowla Ali was against superiority complex on the ground of family linage. He denounced class conscious and proud people).
INNAMAL FAKHIRU LI AQLIN SABIT'IN
WA HAYA'IN WA AFAF'IN WA ADABI
Only those pious by nature, intellect and high in morals and who are learned have honor and dignity.
INNAL FATA MAYN YAQULU HA ANA'ZA
LAEYSAL FATA MAYN YAQULU KANA ABI
He is the honorable person who says; come and judge my caliber. He is not honorable who says my father was so ans so. ( Mowla Ali was against this notion" PIDRAM SULTAN BUDD", my dad was king or of high rank. Mowla Ali disliked class discrimination and family nepotism. He taught; status and honor is earned and deserved only on the basis of personal learning and achievements).

A QASIDA FROM DIVAN E NASIR KHUSRAW
I chose the Qur'an and the faith of Muhammad,
for that is the choice that was made by Muhammad.
I'm certain by faithfully following these,
my certitude will be like that of Muhammad.
My key for the heavens, my guide to delight,
my fortified castle: the faith of Muhammad!
Muhammad is sent as God's prophet to us:
thus is the imprint of the seal of Muhammad.
The faith, the Qur'an - they are fixed in my heart
just as they were fixed in the heart of Muhammad.
My hope is to be - by the grace of the Lord -
the lowliest one in the folk of Muhammad.
In the ocean of faith you see, the Qur'an
Is the most precious pearl in the hand of Muhammad.
As every kind has a treasure concealed,
thus is the Qur'an: treasure trove of Muhammad!
Muhammad entrusted his treasure and goods
to one person, worthy and close to Muhammad.
Who was such a close friend? He whose dear wife
was none but the darling black-eyed, of Muhammad.
From this darling child and that cousin(Ali) appeared
Hasan and Husayn, letters close to Muhammad.
I know certainly this: Hasan and Husayn
are jasmine and rose in both worlds, of Muhammad.
Where could such a rose and such a jasmine appear
in both worlds but out of the soil of Muhammad!
I don't dare select any one among men
above these two sons, lovely sons of Muhammad;
I would be ashamed of the frown of Muhammad!
The sword of pure Hydar, the mighty Qur'an
are cornerstones of the strong faith of Muhammad,
for he stood as master and with Dhu'l-fiqar
in every fight to the right of Muhammad.
Since 'Ali's sword helped the mighty Qur'an;
'Ali was the helper, no doubt, for Muhammad.
As Aaron to Moses, so was 'Ali in rank
A partner in faith and close to Muhammad.
On Doomsday both Moses and Aaron will kiss
the mantle of 'Ali, the hem of Muhammad.
Muhammad's religion resembled a thicket;
The lion: 'Ali, in the woods of Muhammad.
Muhammad said: 'Go, and seek wisdom in China!'
I went to that China, the land of Muhammad.
I heard from the heir of the Prophet such words
which were like the honey, so sweet, of Muhammad!

JUGNI
PIR MERYA JUGNI KAHE(N)DI EH
SAEEN NAAM ALI DA LAHENDI EH
Jugni is an age-old narrative device used in Punjabi folk music. The word literally means 'Female Firefly'(Jugnu means Fire fly), in folk music it stands in for the poet-writer who uses Jugni as an innocent observer to make incisive, often humorous, sometimes sad but always touching observations. In spiritual poetry Jugni means the spirit of life, or essence of life.
Much of early Jugni writing is spiritual in nature and relates to one's understanding of the world and one's relationship with God. Many poet philosophers have used the Jugni device, which is in the public domain, to make social, political or philosophical, often mildly subversive, commentary. Jugni is cross religious and depending on the writer, invokes the name of God (often using the word "Saeen", the vernacular word for Lord), Ali or the Gurus.
Jugni is just mythical concept that is used for female who is innocent, gorgeous, sweet and simple. This word is usually used by poets and authors and also used in folk songs.

Translation of Farsi Poetry in honor of Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib
One night in a gathering, Ali was spoken of, I heard a great wise man say
If Ali's hand is not the hand of God, they why no other hand can solve problems
If you have hellfire under your skin, you will not burn if you have love for Ali
On the day of Judgment when the fire of God's punishment exists, His friendship is a strong protection of the soul
Whoever becomes in love with Ali's house, his heart will become the mirror of Ali's face
On the Day of Judgment, everyone's eyes will be looking in different directions, I will have my gaze and heart towards Ali
Worship of God will not count without the friendship of Ali, to sing divine love is nothing without the essence of Ali
If I receive a long life as of 200 Noahs, All my life without Ali would be nothing
When I look at the ocean I see you Ali, When I look at the desert I see you Ali
Anywhere I look, mountains, desert and land, I see the signs of the greatness of your being Ali
One night in a gathering, Ali was spoken of, I heard a great wise man say
If Ali's hand is not the hand of God, they why no other hand can solve problems

When you feel weary and teary
When you feel blue and black
Turn to Mowla to intercede for you
When you feel sad and in pain
At turns in your working and plans
Turn to Mowla for his helping hands
When your hands are tied and you cry
In any situation or in any condition
Turn to Mowla for help and restoration
When troubles seem to double and multiplied
And you don't know what to do, how to do
Turn to Mowla you will find him helping you

FARADHUM MINA'LLAHI FIL QURAN ANZALAHU
KAFAKUM MIN 'AZIMI'L QADRI ANNAKUM
MO(N) LAM YUSALLI 'ALAYKUM LA SALATA LAHU
O Ahl e Bait of the Prophet, Allah has ordered (faradh) love obligatory for you in the Quran. For your eminence, it is enough to say that who ever does not send salawat upon you, his/her salat (namaz) is not valid.

Where are YOU and where am I
(You are exalted beyond imagination while I am at a lowest rank)
TU AMIR E HARAM MAIN FAQIR E 'AJAM
TEREY GUN(N) AUR YEH LUBB MAIN TALAB HEE TALAB
TU 'ATTA HEE 'ATTA MAIN KHATA HEE KHATTA
TU KUJA WA MON KUJA
You are the King of Holy sanctuary while I am a destitute foreigner
Your praise and my (sinful) lips, I desire, I am a seeker
You are mercy and benefaction, while I am nothing but a sinner
Where are You and where am I
(you are exalted beyond imagination while I am at a lowest rank)
MERA GHAR KHAAK PER AUR TERI RAHGUZAR
SADRATUL MUNTAHA TU KUJA WA MON KUJA
My dwelling is on dust while your journey
Beyond seven heavens to Sadratul Muntaha. Where are You and where am I
MERI KHUSH QISMATI MAIN TERA UMMATI
TU JAZA MAIN RAZA TU KUJA WA MON KUJA
Indeed it is my fortune that I am your ummati (follower)
You are exalted and mercy reaching you for reward. Where are You and where am I
AANSU(N) KI ZABAAN HO MERI TARJUMAAN
DIL SE NIKLEY SADA TU KUJA WA MON KUJA
Let the language of tears be my words
My heart without suspicion proclaim. Where are You and where am I

Man Kunto Mawla is a Manqabat composed by Amir Khusro in the praise of Mowla Ali. This song is based on a hadith, i.e. a saying of Prophet Mohammad:
MONKUNTU MOWLA FA HAAZA ALIYUN MOWLA
Whoever accepts me as a master, Ali is his master too
Man Kunto Maula
shaah-e-mardaan
sher-e-yazdaan
quwwat-e-parvardigaar
laa fatah illaa Ali
laa saif illaa zulfiqaar
King of the brave,
lion of God,
[and] strength of God.
There is no one like Ali [and]
there is no sword like Zulfiqaar*.
(Zulfiqaar was the sword of Ali presented to him by Prophet Muhammad).
Ali imaam-e-manasto manam Ghulaam-e-Ali
hazaar jaan-e-giraamii fidaa-e-naam-e-Ali
Ali is my master, I am the slave of Ali
thousands of lives can be sacrificed for the sacred name of Ali.
man kunto maulaa
fa haaza Aliun maulaa
To whom I am the master
Ali is the master.
daaraa dil daaraa dil daar-e-daanii
tum tum taa naa naa naanaa, naanaa naanaa re
yaalaalii yaalaalii yaalaa, yaalaa yaalaa
Dar – Bheetar, Aandar (inside)
Dara – Andar Aa (get in or come inside)
Dartan – Tanke Aandar (inside the body)
Tanandara – Tanke Aandar Aa (Come inside the body)
Tom – Main Tum Hun (I am you)
Nadirdani – Tu Sabse Adhik Janata Hai (You know more than anyone else) Tandardani – Tanke Aandarka Jannewala (One who knows what is inside the body)
Tanan Dar Aa - Enter my body.
O Dani - He knows
Tu Dani - You know.
Na Dir Dani - You are the Complete Wisdom.
Tom - I am yours, I belong to you.
Yala - Ya Ali - Ya Ali.
Ali shaah-e-mardaan imaamun kabiiraa
ke baad az nabi shud bashirun naziira
Ali is the king of the brave and the greatest (in universe)
because after the Prophet, there is Mowla Ali.

I am the faithful cup-bearer
With every breath Ali Ali.
I am a Sufi, pure at heart
With every breath Ali Ali.
For Murtaza , I burn with love
With every breath Ali Ali.
To You the Noble Prophet said:
You are my Uncle's Son
Your Flesh is my Flesh,
Your Blood is My Blood
With every breath Ali Ali.
You are the King of the Law
You are the Master of the Path,
You are the truth within the Truth
With every breath Ali Ali.
