Aga Khan in S'pore for working visit

SINGAPORE: The Imam of world's Shia Ismaili community, the Aga Khan, is in Singapore for a four-day working visit.
The Aga Khan called on President Tony Tan Keng Yam at the Istana on Saturday.
He is the Founder and Chairman of the Aga Khan Development Network, an umbrella organisation of agencies covering various development issues which has operations in different regions including Asia.
The Aga Khan also called on Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong.
The Aga Khan is in Singapore after inaugurating the opening of the "Treasures of the Aga Khan Museum: Architecture in Islamic Arts" exhibition at the Islamic Arts Museum in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
The exhibition will also be held at the Asian Civilisations Museum in Singapore later this year from July 19 to October 28.
It explores the diverse artistic traditions of Islamic architecture through a showcase of artefacts and artwork from the Aga Khan Museum collection.
The Aga Khan last visited Singapore in 2008 as part of the Golden Jubile celebrations to commemorate the 50th anniversary of his accession.
