Leaders of the Jamat and AKDN hosted Mawlana Hazar Imam at an Institutional Reception today in Islamabad, before he departed Pakistan.
At the reception, President of the Ismaili Council for Pakistan Nizar Mewawalla expressed gratitude to Hazar Imam for his visit to the country and to the Jamats of Gilgit-Baltistan and Chitral.
Addressing those gathered, Hazar Imam spoke of his admiration for the volunteers who had worked tirelessly to plan and organise the visit.
He also thanked the leaders of the Jamat, specifically “for the work that you do for the community, for the sacrifices that you make, for the time you take away from your families, for the extraordinary efforts that you put into the wellbeing of our community, which then translates into goodwill for our community, which translates into progress in our community.”
After the reception, a delegation of Jamati leaders bade farewell to Hazar Imam as his official visit came to a close.
During the week-long visit, Hazar Imam met with President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif as well as government officials from Gilgit-Baltistan and Chitral. He travelled through the mountainous areas of Northern Pakistan and spent time with hundreds of thousands of his murids, offering spiritual rejuvenation and countless blessings, and filling the Jamats’ hearts with joy, hope and gratitude.
