In a Talika Mubarak read in Jamatkhanas worldwide, Hazar Imam said he looks forward to meeting his Jamat that resides in British Columbia, Edmonton, and The Prairies.
To be able to focus his attention on the Jamats residing in the countries stated above, Hazar Imam does not wish members of the Jamat from other parts of Canada or other countries to travel to Western Canada during his visit.

As we prepare for our beloved Mawlana Hazar Imam’s visit to Western Canada, we invite all Jamati members and inter-faith family members across the country to take part in two art installations - each offering a meaningful way to reflect, contribute, and come together as a community.
Together, these installations express our values, our diversity, and our collective commitments:
Iqra: A living library of knowledge and wisdom
Rooted in Love: An Expression of Faith, Love, and Connection
IQRA: A LIVING LIBRARY OF KNOWLEDGE AND WISDOM

In recent farmans, Mawlana Hazar Imam has encouraged us to embrace reading as a pathway to greater understanding and empathy, and as an expression of our rich tradition of intellectual curiosity and lifelong learning.
This collective art installation will celebrate the pursuit of knowledge and the stories, experiences, and wisdom that connect us across generations and cultures. It serves as a reminder that reading helps us discover new worlds, while sharing our stories helps ensure that the knowledge within our own community continues to live on and inspire others.
Ways to Participate
There are three opportunities for members of the Jamat and inter-faith family members to contribute to this collective project:
1. Child & Youth Submission: Humorous Stories and Homegrown Recipes
Children and youth aged 5-14 years are invited to contribute to a book filled with funny, joyful stories as well as recipes filled with homegrown flavours.
This project celebrates the voices, creativity, and laughter of our younger generation. Selected submissions will help create a book that reflects our Canadian home, our diverse backgrounds, and the love we pour into our kitchens and imaginations. Whether your kitchen smells of maple syrup, saffron, samosas, or mantu, your flavours and your words are the heart of this project.
Submissions may include:
- A Homegrown Recipe - Share a dish that tells your story. Traditional, fusion, or a beloved family favourite - all are welcome. Include ingredients, steps, why this recipe is special to you, and a photo.
- A Funny Food Story - Write a short fictional story about food that will make others laugh out loud. You are also welcome to bring your story to life with an original illustration, either hand-drawn and scanned or created digitally. Stories should be 500 words or less.

2. General Submission: Stories That Shape Us

Mawlana Hazar Imam has continually expressed his deep love for the Jamat and reminded us of the unique, unbreakable bond we share with him. In honour of his visit to Western Canada, we invite members of the Jamat to take part in a collective art experience rooted in connection, creativity, and expression.
Over the coming weeks, participants will have the opportunity to engage in a reflective writing/drawing activity. Each person will receive a piece of sustainable seed paper on which they can share messages of love, remembrance, and devotion. These contributions will be woven together to become part of a larger installation that will be presented to Mawlana Hazar Imam during his visit.
Following the visit, the seed paper will be planted and given back to the earth. As the messages take root and bloom into flowers and plants, they will serve as living symbols of our Imam’s love for us, and of how remembrance, faith, and shared values allow our community to grow and flourish.

The first exciting announcement is that our beloved Imam, Mawlana Shah Rahim Al-Hussaini Aga Khan 5, will undertake an official visit to Western Canada from July 23 to July 26, 2026. The Canadian Ismaili community is actively preparing to welcome the Imam, making this one of the most anticipated events for Ismailis in Canada and around the world. Volunteer service has long reflected the living spirit of khidma — faith expressed through humility, compassion, and collective responsibility. Across generations, Ismaili volunteers have strengthened our Jamat and the communities we live in through dedicated service offered with purpose and devotion. Volunteering for Mawlana Hazar Imam’s Canada Visit offers an opportunity to continue this tradition and contribute meaningfully to this historic occasion.
To support the Canada Visit, we will need more than 20,000 volunteers across the various events. Every role – large or small – will make a difference. All members of the Jamat — including inter-faith families, youth, seniors, and those with diverse abilities — are warmly invited to offer their time, skills, knowledge, and dedication.
Whether this is your first time volunteering or it has been some time since you last served, your support is needed and warmly welcomed.

HOW TO REGISTER
1. Express your interest during registration
During the visit registration http://visitregistration.iicanada.ca/ process, indicate your interest in volunteering for each household member. For anyone who expresses interest, their contact information will be securely transferred to the iVolunteer portal.
Inter-faith family members should express their interest directly through their iVolunteer account.
2. Update your iVolunteer https://app.betterimpact.com/Applicatio ... rmNumber=1 profile
You will receive an email inviting you to update your iVolunteer profile, including skills, availability, and qualifications.
If you do not have an iVolunteer account, you will be required to create one. Children aged 5-12 will be required to have their own account (a parent's email can be used, along with a unique username).
3. Duty allocation
Once registered on iVolunteer, volunteer opportunities and duty allocation details will be shared. As the volunteer needs of the Canada Visit continue to be confirmed, please revisit this page for updates and additional information.
4. Training and preparation
Training materials will be shared through iVolunteer, depending on your role(s), and can be completed online. On-site onboarding will take place on the day of the Didar.
Training and orientations will be provided as needed to ensure you feel prepared, confident, and supported in your volunteer role(s).
VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
Volunteer roles will be available across a wide range of areas, including:
Food service and refreshments
- Layout, installation, and logistics
- Medical services
- Parking and transportation
- Reception and hospitality
- Registration and access
- Safety and flow management
- Seniors and mobility support
Volunteers with an assigned duty within the Didar hall will be provided sufficient time to reunite with their families before the Didar ceremonies begin.
All health professionals wishing to volunteer are required to register with the Canadian Ismaili Health Professionals Database .

RECITATION AUDITIONS
June 18, 2026 | Canada
Eligible Jamati members are invited to audition for recitations in the presence of Mawlana Hazar Imam during the Western Canada Visit. This is a meaningful opportunity to offer your voice in service of the Jamat. Selections will be made through a structured and merit-based process, guided with care, respect, and integrity.
HOW TO AUDITION
1. Register to Audition
Once you have completed your Canada Visit registration, we invite you to register to audition on the Recitations Management Platform, which will open on Friday, June 19 at 5 p.m. MT / 4 p.m. PT.
Recitations for Didar will include: Tilawat-e-Qur’an, Translation of Ayat, Ginan, Qasida, and Zikr Tasbih
2. Auditions
Reciters will be selected through a multi-round audition process. Participants will be notified at each stage whether they are selected to progress further.
Auditions will be held in person at a Jamatkhana in a Visit city in each region. Virtual auditions will be considered only for:
Members residing more than 200km from their audition city
Students or others unable to travel due to extenuating circumstances
3. Coaching and Training
Participants selected for the final phase will be required to attend mandatory training and coaching sessions until the day of the Didar. These sessions will require a time commitment of 4-6 days, including full days and some evenings. The sessions will take place in the city of the Didar in each region.
Following training, the coaches and judges will make recommendations as part of the final selection process.
4. Selections
Final selection decisions will be made by the Tariqah and Religious Education Board (ITREB) for Canada, and the final reciters will be notified.
RECITATION PREPARATION
Participants are expected to memorize their recitation to support effective and emotive delivery.
Recitation selections and judging criteria will be shared in the Auditions Booklet, which will be provided to you after registration. Participants may choose any one of the approved selections within the category for which they registered.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
Auditions are open to Jamati members who:
Are 15 years or older as of the Western Canada Visit date
Are Canadian residents and eligible to register for the Canada Visit
Have never recited in the presence of any Imam, anywhere in the world, during their lifetime
Individuals who are not eligible include:
Current Imamat institutional appointees
National Executive of CFC, ITREB, CAB, GRB
Local Council Presidents, Local ITREB Chairs and presiding (on-stage) Jamati Mukhi Kamadia Saheba, and their immediate families (i.e. spouse, children)
Council for Canada Executive Officer and ITREB Executive Officer, and their immediate families
Judges involved in the audition process

RECITATION AUDITIONS
June 18, 2026 | Canada
Eligible Jamati members are invited to audition for recitations in the presence of Mawlana Hazar Imam during the Western Canada Visit. This is a meaningful opportunity to offer your voice in service of the Jamat. Selections will be made through a structured and merit-based process, guided with care, respect, and integrity.
HOW TO AUDITION
1. Register to Audition
Once you have completed your Canada Visit registration, we invite you to register to audition on the Recitations Management Platform, which will open on Friday, June 19 at 5 p.m. MT / 4 p.m. PT.
Recitations for Didar will include: Tilawat-e-Qur’an, Translation of Ayat, Ginan, Qasida, and Zikr Tasbih
2. Auditions
Reciters will be selected through a multi-round audition process. Participants will be notified at each stage whether they are selected to progress further.
Auditions will be held in person at a Jamatkhana in a Visit city in each region. Virtual auditions will be considered only for:
Members residing more than 200km from their audition city
Students or others unable to travel due to extenuating circumstances
3. Coaching and Training
Participants selected for the final phase will be required to attend mandatory training and coaching sessions until the day of the Didar. These sessions will require a time commitment of 4-6 days, including full days and some evenings. The sessions will take place in the city of the Didar in each region.
Following training, the coaches and judges will make recommendations as part of the final selection process.
4. Selections
Final selection decisions will be made by the Tariqah and Religious Education Board (ITREB) for Canada, and the final reciters will be notified.
RECITATION PREPARATION
Participants are expected to memorize their recitation to support effective and emotive delivery.
Recitation selections and judging criteria will be shared in the Auditions Booklet, which will be provided to you after registration. Participants may choose any one of the approved selections within the category for which they registered.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
Auditions are open to Jamati members who:
Are 15 years or older as of the Western Canada Visit date
Are Canadian residents and eligible to register for the Canada Visit
Have never recited in the presence of any Imam, anywhere in the world, during their lifetime
Individuals who are not eligible include:
Current Imamat institutional appointees
National Executive of CFC, ITREB, CAB, GRB
Local Council Presidents, Local ITREB Chairs and presiding (on-stage) Jamati Mukhi Kamadia Saheba, and their immediate families (i.e. spouse, children)
Council for Canada Executive Officer and ITREB Executive Officer, and their immediate families
Judges involved in the audition process

RESERVE YOUR TICKETS
Registration for all concerts are free of charge, but pre-registration is required to ensure a comfortable experience for all members of the Jamat. All seating is first-come, first-served. Please arrive early, as we are unable to hold or reserve seats for late-comers.

Multiple events: There is no limit on the number of unique concerts that you can attend. If there are multiple shows in your region, you are welcome to register for all of them

TASMIYA PRODUCTIONS
Tasmiya Productions began in 2007, during Mawlana Shah Karim’s Golden Jubilee, with the purpose of connecting the Qur’an, and Ismaili devotional expressions and literature with the guidance of the Imam of the Time.
Tasmiya aims not only at helping the youth of the Jamat remain connected to their faith, but also to encourage diverse segments of the Jamat to engage thoughtfully with faith, and keep remembrance at the core of their lives.
Today, Tasmiya continues to inspire the Jamat through devotional musical productions which are inspired by the Qur’an, Mawlana Hazar Imam’s guidance, the STEP curriculum and other IIS publications; addressing core questions that we, as humans, ask in every phase of our lives.

THE SUFISTICS: MEHFIL-E-INTEZAAR (A PRESENTATION OF THE ISMAILI SOUNDS)
“Mehfil-e-Intezaar,” curated in collaboration with The Sufistics and The Ismaili Sounds — a global platform that publishes devotional music videos, live performances, and concerts — brings together artists and audiences in a shared space of reflection, celebration, and anticipation.
The Sufistics are an internationally acclaimed devotional music ensemble led by Ismaili Muslim American singer, songwriter, and producer Fez Meghani. Blending spiritual poetry, Sufi influences, and contemporary Ismaili devotional music, the band’s work conveys themes of hope, love, generosity, and unity. Over the past 30 years, Fez Meghani has produced six albums and numerous singles, including the runaway Golden Jubilee hit album A Golden Sunrise, featuring beloved songs such as “Mawla Tu Hi Tu Hai,” “Kab Aate Ho?,” and “Allahumma Salli Aala...”
Comprised of long-time collaborators Aftab Ali and Pervaiz Mirza, The Sufistics have performed more than 500 concerts worldwide, including appearances at the Islamic Music Festival in Kuala Lumpur and the Special Olympics in Los Angeles. Ruh Ki Awaaz, meaning Sounds from the Soul, is a Western Canadian musical ensemble that creates devotional journeys through music, inspiring reflection, connection, and unity.

Welcome to the Western Canada Concert Series - a celebration of harmony and devotion. As we prepare to welcome our beloved Imam, this curated musical journey invites the Jamat to experience the profound power of devotional expression through the universal language of melody.
This series is more than a performance; it is a space for us to gather as a community, to reflect on our shared heritage, and to find inspiration in the artistic excellence of both local and international talent. Each concert serves as a bridge, connecting us to one another, through a diverse tapestry of sounds that celebrate our faith and communal bond.

RESERVE YOUR TICKETS
Registration for all concerts are free of charge, but pre-registration is required to ensure a comfortable experience for all members of the Jamat. All seating is first-come, first-served. Please arrive early, as we are unable to hold or reserve seats for late-comers.
Please note:
Multiple events: There is no limit on the number of unique concerts that you can attend. If there are multiple shows in your region, you are welcome to register for all of them
Capacity: Registration is subject to venue capacity. Once a venue reaches its limit, registration will close for that specific date
MEET THE ARTISTS
TASMIYA PRODUCTIONS
Tasmiya Productions began in 2007, during Mawlana Shah Karim’s Golden Jubilee, with the purpose of connecting the Qur’an, and Ismaili devotional expressions and literature with the guidance of the Imam of the Time.
Tasmiya aims not only at helping the youth of the Jamat remain connected to their faith, but also to encourage diverse segments of the Jamat to engage thoughtfully with faith, and keep remembrance at the core of their lives.
Today, Tasmiya continues to inspire the Jamat through devotional musical productions which are inspired by the Qur’an, Mawlana Hazar Imam’s guidance, the STEP curriculum and other IIS publications; addressing core questions that we, as humans, ask in every phase of our lives.

Roshni is more than illumination - it’s hope, presence, and the expression of devotion that lights the heart through music. Join the Kashish Music team as they take the Jamat on a journey through decades of devotional music, featuring geets, Ismaili originals, devotional Bollywood, Sufi, and much more. This young group blends diverse musical styles, from folk and Hindustani classical to R&B, blues, pop, Central Asian, and more. Reminisce and immerse yourself in your nostalgic favorites, reimagined through a fresh new sound.

Rah e Nur is a dynamic group formed in 2023, bringing together a diverse group of singers and musicians united by their passion for creativity and performance. Since their debut, the group has delivered many energetic shows for the jamat across the Calgary, Edmonton and Toronto, steadily building a reputation for their engaging stage presence and evolving sound. With the recent addition of several new members, Rah e Nur is expanding into fresh musical genres and unlocking new artistic possibilities. This growing ensemble continues to push its creative boundaries, with each performance reflecting their dedication to growth, collaboration, and musical excellence.

THE SUFISTICS: MEHFIL-E-INTEZAAR (A PRESENTATION OF THE ISMAILI SOUNDS)
“Mehfil-e-Intezaar,” curated in collaboration with The Sufistics and The Ismaili Sounds — a global platform that publishes devotional music videos, live performances, and concerts — brings together artists and audiences in a shared space of reflection, celebration, and anticipation.
The Sufistics are an internationally acclaimed devotional music ensemble led by Ismaili Muslim American singer, songwriter, and producer Fez Meghani. Blending spiritual poetry, Sufi influences, and contemporary Ismaili devotional music, the band’s work conveys themes of hope, love, generosity, and unity. Over the past 30 years, Fez Meghani has produced six albums and numerous singles, including the runaway Golden Jubilee hit album A Golden Sunrise, featuring beloved songs such as “Mawla Tu Hi Tu Hai,” “Kab Aate Ho?,” and “Allahumma Salli Aala...”
Comprised of long-time collaborators Aftab Ali and Pervaiz Mirza, The Sufistics have performed more than 500 concerts worldwide, including appearances at the Islamic Music Festival in Kuala Lumpur and the Special Olympics in Los Angeles. Their flagship concert series Expressions of Love, along with Woh Din: Memories of the Mulaqaat, and the current Mehfil-e-Intezaar (showcased in all the jurisdictions where Mawlana Hazar Imam’s recent Visits have transpired), explore devotion, remembrance, celebration, and the shared spiritual journey of the global Jamat.

SASZ E MEHFIL
Sasz E Mehfil has been performing together for over 30 years, entertaining jamats across Canada, as well as audiences in the United States, Kenya, and Tanzania. Their diverse repertoire spans Ginan and Geet Mehfils, Raasda, and full Musical Concerts, showcasing their versatility across multiple mysical traditions. As anticipation builds for Mawlana Hazar Imam’s visit to Western Canada, the group looks forward to inspiring the jamat with soulful melodies and uplifting performances. The ensemble includes Nadir Rajan, Alkarim Samji, Maheboob Chaglani, Shafiq Moorji, Tanzeel Bhaidani, Zishan Jaffer, Salim Moorji, and Nabeel Mukhi. Blending traditional instruments such as tabla and harmonium with modern instrumentation, Sasz E Mehfil creates a vibrant fusion of inspirational music. From Halo Halo to Raas Ramva, the group aims to bring joy, energy, and heartfelt celebration to every performance, leaving audiences uplifted and engaged.

For musicians, Hafeez Jamal and Husein Manji, music is prayer – the soul’s language. As we spiritually prepare for Mawlana Hazar Imam’s arrival, Hafeez, Husein, and friends invite you to share in a mehfil-style evening of song and remembrance in “A Thousand Ways” - an Devotional Concert Series.
In this intimate setting, you can immerse and find resonance in an atmospheric soundscape and a celebration of contemporary devotional poetry and song that blend Western genres of rock, folk, reggae/dub, and Spoken Word with elements of our Persian, Central Asian, East Indian and mystical heritage.

DOSTAN-E-KABUL
Dostan-e-Kabul brings together three beloved Calgary musicians — Nasim Amin on vocals and keyboard, GM Ferozi on SPD drums, and Ferooz Sayeed on the darbuka — united by a shared love of the music of Afghanistan and the Farsi-speaking world. Drawing on melodies that have traveled across generations and borders, the trio will share their favorite songs with the Jamat in celebration of this joyous occasion: the arrival of Mawlana Hazar Imam to Western Canada. Through rhythm and song, Dostan-e-Kabul honors the rich cultural heritage of the Central Asian and Afghan community, offering an evening of music, memory, and togetherness.

RUH KI AWAAZ
Ruh Ki Awaaz, meaning Sounds from the Soul, is a Western Canadian musical ensemble that creates devotional journeys through music, inspiring reflection, connection, and unity.
Featuring artists from Calgary, Edmonton, and Vancouver, the ensemble brings together voices that have had the honour of performing before members of the Noorani Family, including Mawlana Shah Karim al-Husayni and Prince Hussain Aga Khan, and have contributed to landmark celebrations such as the Golden Jubilee and Diamond Jubilee.
Through a series of themed productions, Ruh Ki Awaaz seeks to ignite sparks in murids' devotional journeys, transforming music into a shared experience of faith, hope, gratitude, and celebration. Blending ginans, qasidas, geets, qawaalis, kalams, and contemporary devotional music, the ensemble invites audiences on a soulful journey that transcends generations and geographies.
For the Western Concert Series, Ruh Ki Awaaz humbly presents "Intezaar", a musical reflection on longing, anticipation, and the joy of spiritual fulfillment.

I am hearing that from this point forward there will no longer be any form of youth mulaqat. How true is this
