Shah Rahim al-Husseini Agha Khan V:
Like a smiling light — a journey of human friendship in Gilgit-Baltistan.

Written by: Abdul Salam Naz , Abdul Salam Naz , تح

In this magical season of May 2026, when the icy mountains of Hunza and Nagar glowed with sunlight and the waves of the Hunza River flowed with clapping, a personality descended into the valleys of northern Pakistan who radiated spiritual illumination as well as human love. Setting a new example. "Hazrat Shah Rahim-ul-Hussaini Agha Khan", the 50th heir Imam of Shia Ismaili Nazari Muslims, came on his first official visit to Pakistan after taking over as Imamat.

The visit was not just a protocol trip, but a heart touching, soul awakening, and revealing the greatness of personality.

A beautiful combination of humility and strength.

On a world map where the notion of power is often associated with heavy security, distance, and terror, Agha Khan V showed a different route. Stepping off a helicopter, he headed straight towards the people — like a brother had returned to his family. By bowing down in front of the innocent faces of children, turned a hand full of compassion on their heads, shook hands with women gently, and replied to the greetings of the devotees, smilingly.

They had a smile on their face that bloomed like flowers—when they met someone, that smile spread even more, like the first ray of morning descending on the mountains. Despite being the head of a powerful and internationally renowned family in the world There was no procession of heavily armed guards around them. It was a sign of the deep trust, peace and love for the people in their hearts.

As an Ahl-Sunnat person, who belongs to Sunni Maktab Fikar, I cannot help but acknowledge the fact that Imam Sahib's "Saharan Personality" deeply influenced me. In today's era, when many religious leaders boast in the lap of fame. They erect the wall and do not even bother to take the greetings of the devotees, there Shah Rahim ul Hussain bows down and takes the greetings, meets with a pleasant heart and makes everyone feel their importance. This humility, this simplicity and this human friendship are signs of true greatness.

Rain of love in the valleys of Gilgit Baltistan

When they were welcomed at Gilgit Airport on 22nd May, it was as if the whole area was filled with enthusiasm. Programs were held in valleys like Pasu, Hunza, Gahkoch, Yaseen, Parwak and Garam Chasma. Thousands of devotees were waiting for them after descending from the peaks of the mountains.

Agha Khan V not only addressed but mingled among the people. There was love in his voice, wisdom in his words, and a divine peace in his presence. He spoke on topics like education, health, environmental protection, economic autonomy and youth development. His words reached not only the minds of the listeners but also their hearts.

When they stood with children, time seemed to have stopped. When they met the women, their eyes were filled with respect. Their every move conveyed a message that the true essence of leadership lies in connecting with people, not with them. In creating a gap.

Vision of service and human development.

Following the centuries-old tradition of the Agha Khan family, Shah Rahim-ul-Hussaini inspected several projects of the "Agha Khan Development Network (AKDN)". Schools, hospitals, rural development programs and measures to tackle natural disasters — all reflect his foresight. Gilgit In a beautiful but challenging area like Baltistan, their presence has spread new rays of hope.

When this sacred tour ended on 26 May 2026, the valleys, mountains and rivers of Gilgit-Baltistan echoed with a new voice despite being silent. It was the voice of love, humility, humanity and hope.

Shah Rahim-ul-Hussaini Agha Khan not only touched the hearts of a sect, but left an eternal message in the bosom of entire Pakistan: "True greatness is not in arrogance and fear, but in bowing, smiling and standing among people." He showed that of strength. The most beautiful beauty is the one that does not increase distance from people, but connects to their hearts.

As a citizen of Sunnah, I am not afraid to say today that no matter how high the walls of religious differences may be, the light of a noble character crosses them. Those smiling eyes of Agha Khan V, bowing down and accepting salutations. Existence, compassionate hands on children’s heads, and a way of walking among people without fear—it’s all like a fresh breeze in today’s poisoned environment of hate and division.

May Allah Almighty grant Hazrat Shah Rahim-ul-Hussaini Agha Khan perfect health, blessed long life and radiant leadership. May his smile always shine on every mountain, every valley and every heart of Pakistan. Through him service to humanity, spiritual guidance and communal harmony. May this series not only continue but spread further.

This visit is not just a page in history — but “a living beacon of light” that will continue to teach generations that the greatest power is love, the greatest glory is humility, and the greatest leadership is service to humanity.

"A heartfelt tribute to a neutral, affected and devoted citizen."
