I do not think that Ali is meant in its technical etymological sense. Rather it is meant in the generic sense of representing the concept of Imamat. It could have been the name of any Imam for that matter.tasbiha wrote:Ali = Most High

What the Imam is telling us here is that Imam is Allah echoing the sentiments expressed in the various discussions under "Is Hazar Imam God".
