have some serious question about the roots of islam

Post by bcom »

YAM, please forgive for asking these questions, I believe in being Ismaili but I wish somebody can answer this for me. Hopefully we have some history buffs around here.

Some say the Catholic church invented Islam to fight
the onslaught of zealous Jews and Anglican Christians.
Others say it was to get a foothold in the Holy land
of Jerusalem. Let's look at the similarities of Islam
and the Universal [catholic] Church and why these
scenarios are possible.

1.The Catholic church like Islam had a firm footing in
the worship of the female principle as god. The moon
has represented the female principle for ages, Isis
the oldest of the old one as IO or Hera the paramour
of Zeus. the Bedouins of Arabia were into moon
worship before Mohammed and this icon was incorporated
into Islam in the symbol of the crescent moon and star
and in Catholic Christianity through the worship of
the icon of the Madonna Mary.

Is this true??

2.Mohamed's wife, the 40 year old Khadijah, was a
devout Catholics as were her Uncles. It was through
her and her uncles the religion of Catholicism was
taught to Mohammed

3."Fatima means Creatress. A Shi'a text, Omm-al-Kitab,
said she appeared at he creation of the material
world, " crowned and seated on a throne, holding a
sword, and ornamented with a million varicolored
shimmering lights" which illuminated the entire garden
of Paradise. She was the first to occupy the Seat of
the Dominion, 'The resting place of Allah, the Most
High. her symbol is the Crescent Moon and she is
called Al-Zahra 'Bright-Blooming.' a former title of
the Great Mother. It is said to be the symbol of her
and, surmounting a solar disc, 'represents the whole
of the religion of Islam." B. Walker, pg. 52

4.Sound like the titles of the Catholic Mary - the
Mother of God, doesn't it? Well it is. That is why it
was easy for Mohammed to spread the message to the
Arabic nations under the Catholic umbrella of his Wife
Khadija and her brothers.

5."Muhammad heard Christians and Jews expound their
religious views at commercial fairs in Mecca and
troubled by the questions they raised, he periodically
withdrew to a cave outside Mecca to meditate and pray
for guidance. During one of these retreats he
experienced a vision of the archangel Gabriel, who
proclaimed him a prophet of God. He was greatly
perplexed by the experience but was reassured by his
wife, the catholic Khadija, as new revelations
followed, he came to accept his prophetic mission.[8]"

6.Questions?
How could a Catholic Khadija reassure Mohammed?
How could this Catholic vision become Islam?

7.Because it was a set-up. Khadija and her brothers [
the monks] stay faithful to the Church of Rome and
use Mohammed to bring in the pagan Bedouins and Arabs
that was the lynchpin for the middle East and Israel.
The appearance of Fatima in Portugal was a coup for
the Vatican.

8.Fatima (Hazrat Ali's wife) gave birth through her
left thigh, while Mary is said to have given birth to
Jesus through her right thigh. Fatima became a houri
of Heaven. All the Muslims in Heaven will have as many
houris as wives as they wish, except that 'Ali would
have no other wife than Fatima. Some see a similarity
between the veneration of Fatima and the Roman
Catholic veneration of the virgin Mary. Fatima was
been called "the mother of her father" by 12'er
Shi'ites, (Encyclopedia of Islam vol.2 p.845-846).

The Catholic form of Christianity was not even present in Arabia during the time of Prophet Muhammad.

Furthermore, Khadija was not a catholic and her cousin - Waraqah was a Christian but of the Nestorian form.

The Quran also condemns the worship of Mary as a god alongside Jesus.

Bibi Fatima's significance is esoteric and not dogmatic. She has only been compared to the Virgin Mary in esoteric status not theologically.

Also, the Catholic Popes declared the Crusades against Islam

"ome say the Catholic church invented Islam to fight
the onslaught of zealous Jews and Anglican Christians"

- Angelical or Protestan Christianity did not exist in the 7th century when Islam began.

That's the point of the article; how to enslave the people of Arabia.

Furthermore, Khadija was not a catholic and her cousin - Waraqah was a Christian but of the Nestorian form.

Can you post any evidence of this?

Yes that is correct. But the author is saying that the similarities in details regarding her birth are much too close for a coincidence..... was this because someone was involved in writing the koran had access to Roman Catholic history?

Also, the Catholic Popes declared the Crusades against Islam

Yes that is correct, but that does not refute the author's claims. The authour claims in the orignial article that once the Roman Catholic Church lost control of the relgiion, they started the crusades. It also mentions how the Roman Catholic Church thought it would benefit economically from War. This is even happening today with the USA. Cheney is making money of the War in Iraq

Thank you for pointing this out!!
Let us see if we can refute all of the author's numbered points! This is going to be a great discussion.

Before we start being dragged into this controversial statements, please provide the name of the author of these questions and the source where you have found the.

Attempts to discredit Prophet Muhammad [PBUH] or Islam will not be tolerated. Before this discussion is allowed to proceed, I need to see some serious reference on the origin of these question else by tomorrow I wil close this thread. "Some say" doesn't work here.

Subsequent to this post, some references to known anti-Islam web sites have been posted. We can definately not allow redirection to this kind of sites here. This thread has been closed. Sorry for that.
