Shiraz, my wife and I are learning new recipes of Biryani and other Mutton Dishes…just the other day around a frozen lake in Gatineau Park with some friends; we were roasting a whole Goat dipped in Mughalai Masala. Some local people around us were inquiring so hungrily... Man, food sometimes makes my faith stronger in God …LOL…seriously!

Imam Ja’far al-Sadiq: “Everyone who bears love to us… will be… our companion in all stations (in Paradise)”
Posted by Nimira Dewji

‘Say: I ask you for no reward, save love of the near of kin’ (Quran 42: 23).

Love for Imam
Imam Ja’far al-Sadiq (d.765) said:
“Everyone who bears love to us, will be with us on the Day of Resurrection.
He will be under our protection and be our companion in all stations (in Paradise). Doubly do I swear by God, God purifies the heart of everyone who loves us…”
(Secondary Curriculum, Faith and Practices in Islamic Traditions Volume I p 167)

The nature and spiritual bond between Imam and murids:
Imam al-Mu’izz (d. 975) said:
“Indeed, even when you are physically away from us, our souls are together, in our mutual love for each other and in our affection for you and in your affection to us. Whoever of you is not like that, he will not benefit from this closeness, as closeness cannot just be in physical terms but also needs to be in spirit. Your souls… are close to us, even if our bodies and locations are apart. The closeness in wilaya is more precious than closeness in blood relationships.”
(Secondary Curriculum, Faith and Practices in Islamic Traditions Volume I p 167)

The Imam-murid relationship in the Shia Ismaili tradition is founded on the core principles of walaya (devotion to the Imams directly descended from the Ahl al-Bayt) and baya’a (allegiance).

A Noble Birthday

The Imam is born…
O heavens rejoice!
O earth, bedeck yourself and sing!

Today is the id…
O daisies, open!
Diffuse your sweet fragrance and celebrate!

The clouds disperse…
O sun, irradiate!
Unveil your beauty and spread it abroad!

The sky is clear…
O lovers, come!
Prepare a feast for his noble birthday!

[quote="kmaherali"]The following verses allude to Ibadat using the imagery of worldly marriage and sexual intercourse as a means towards birthing into the Divine, i.e., becoming the Imam.

Verses from the ginan "Abdu man jite man ichhaa fal upaje".

abdhu heer parchhe tyu tanku(n) shodho, ane kahyaa gurukaa keeje;
beebaa beejaa maarg jove, tyu ha(n)saa gavan kareeje abdhu..................................................15

heer - silken clothes parchhe - understand,test
beebaa - types; to compose, to mould gavan - sexual intercourse

O slave! as the silken clothes are evaluated and tested(for their quality), in the same manner evaluate the quality of your soul; and act according to the guidance of the Guide.
As the other kinds(the ones without the Guide) see their path (of marriage), in the same manner have intercouse(union with the beloved through ibaadaat) for the soul

My query:
Does GAVAN KAREEJE means intercourse in Gujrati?

In the context of the verse it means intercourse or close relationship just as in a marriage.

I think the word intercourse is not appropriate. It should be explained as to be one with God. Like water mixes with water become water.
PANI MEY MIL KEE PANI ANJAAM YEH KE PANI

In intercourse the result is lust, then according to you it can be called spiritual lust and this term can be applied for Huurs also.

Intercourse if interpreted correctly is the most intimate moment of a relationship between two
individuals, leading to birth/rebirth of another individual. Hence it is an ideal metaphor for intense ibadat - an expression of intimate relationship between a momin and the Imam giving birth/rebirth to a higher mode of existence.

Hmm, so you are promoting prono in spiritualism. This type of analogy and comparison is hard to digest. This creates serious questions, like;
1. For intercourse two bodies are needed. Does both bodies have same organs?
2. Does souls have physical organs or spiritual organs?
3. How will you explain to virgin girls/women and virgin teenagers that intercourse analogy because they have not experienced practical intercourse!
4. Is there any spiritual ejaculation type of thing happens?
5. After spiritual intercourse between two souls, the birth will be of 3rd soul?
There are few more questions in my mind on this subject which I feel are not appropriate to ask on forum.

In first line of above post, please correct the word porno instead of prono.

MSMS in explaining spiritual happiness said: just as a small child is not able to comprehend the joys of physical union, similarly it is not possible for the unprepared to understand the joys of the spirit.
