What is real name of Abu Hurairah?

Post by agakhani »

Did you know?

The real name of Hazarat Abu Hurairah was Abd al-Shams (servant of the sun) and one place it is quoted as Umar!! but as a child, he had a cat and he always keep this cat in his sleeve all the time, therefore he known as "Abu Hurairah" (which literally means "Father of the Kitten") although his many Hadiths are not trustworthy.

Abu Hurayra narrated 5,000 hadiths out of 7,000 in Bukhari. He only was a companion for 2-3 years. That means he memorized a huge amount of hadiths per day which is very unrealistic. Yet Sunnis still say he is thiqa lol. Not reliable at all.

It does not mean he heard Prophet Saw and reported 5000 Ahadith.

He spent 36 years after Prophet's death collecting, studying, remembering and writing down Ahadith.
