According to the AKDN website, it states:

"The Aga Khan Museum, due to open in 2014 in Toronto, Canada, will be dedicated to the acquisition, preservation and display of artefacts - from various periods and geographies - relating to the intellectual, cultural, artistic and religious heritage of Islamic communities. "

Another website shows the following:

Registration is now open for the Fourth Biennial Symposium of the Historians of Islamic Art Association, taking place at the Aga Khan Museum, Toronto, 16-18 October 2014.

The HIAA conference is the biennial forum for the presentation and discussion of papers on various aspects of Islamic art history, and is open to all, regardless of nationality or academic affiliation.

To join or renew your membership in HIAA, please follow the instructions on the HIAA home page.

The Royal Architectural Institute of Canada website states the following:

The Moriyama RAIC International Prize honours architecture that transforms society by furthering humanistic values of social justice, respect, equality, inclusivity and the well being of all people.

It seeks the best project in the world that chooses vision over style.

The inaugural award ceremony of the Moriyama RAIC International Prize takes place at The Aga Khan Museum in Toronto on October 11, 2014 at a Gala celebration.

The Moriyama RAIC International Prize Gala will be the first private function at the Aga Khan Museum in Toronto. During the reception, guests will view the three finalists’ displays and visual representations of their submissions. Following the reception and dinner, guests will enter the beautiful, high-ceilinged theatre to enjoy live entertainment, bid on an exciting set of live auction items and watch the evening culminate with the announcement of the Moriyama RAIC International Prize winner.

At the closing reception, guests will have the opportunity to network, meet the finalists and Prize winner and explore the newly opened Aga Khan Museum.
