Life after death?

Post by truepath_Sa »

Salam

I am interested in what the average ismailis believe about life after death? so when you die,do you go to Barzakh? we sunnis believe in barzakh, which is the place where souls live until judgment day when we go to hell or paradise.

or do you reincarnate? i read some ismailis believe in reincarnation .to me that is a deprresing belief and i hope it is not true..saying,you grandpa is reincarnated somewhere ? we look up to heaven and hope they hear us,thats more natural than to think maybe he is in china as a baby now

In Ismailism there is strength in diversity. There are diverse strands of thought in regard to the concept of hereafter. There have been various discussions in this forum in this regard. You may want to visit the link below and ask specific questions related to the thread.

According to Quran Allah gives only one chance. Quran says;

When death comes to one of them, he says, "My Lord, send me back again. so that I may act rightly regarding the things I failed to do!". No indeed! It is just words he utters. Behind them there is a barrier until the Day they are raised up.

Al Mu'minun: 99-100

One should study Surah Mu'minun. It is an important surah in which ethical values and qualities of mu'min are mentioned beside day of judgement and lessons from story of Prophet Noah and Moses.

There has been extensive discussion on this subject on the thread of reincarnation. We would be repeating the cycle if we started again.

The thread reincarnation is locked. I suggested to study Surah Al Mu'minun. At present I am not intended to discuss reincarnation.

Soul Life & Death

Post by mahebubchatur »

Ismaili doctrine - every soul, manifested or not, has been created from one single, by a single creator. All souls are a part of the same one soul, which are all & each, an integral and and interconnected part the unity & oneness of the entire creation - manifested or not - Tawhid

All human beings are born with a soul and, when the soul leaves the physical body, to continues its eternal journey, the body dies & returns to earth.

O mankind! Be careful of your duty to your Lord Who created you from one single soul and from it created its mate and from them twain hath spread abroad a multitude of men and women.” Quran 4:1

O mankind! Lo! We have created you male and female, and have made you nations and tribes that ye may know one another. Lo! the noblest of you, in the sight of Allah, is the best in conduct. Lo! Allah is Knower, Aware. Quran 49:13,

“Many Spiritual Children who have lost their loved ones come to me sorrowing and with tears in their eyes. If they only knew how happy the departed souls are in the next world, they would not be so sorry. Life in this world is very short and we should all work for the happiness of life hereafter, which is everlasting.”
- Mawlana Hazar Imam,
(Paris, June 1963)

“Before leaving you, I again convey my best, best affectionate blessing to your Jamats, to your families and to all the murids whom you meet in your lives. I also convey my best blessings to the ruhani members of your families. They are in my thoughts, they are in my prayers, and I send blessings for the eternal peace and rest of their souls. Our lives are transitions. They are not permanent in any way. And those who are not here physically, they are there, eternally, in the form of a soul. And to those souls, I give best, special, loving blessings. Khanavadan, Khanavadan, Khanavadan.”

Many Lives, Many Masters: The True Story of a Prominent Psychiatrist, His Young Patient, and the Past-Life Therapy That Changed Both Their Lives

From author and psychotherapist Dr. Brian Weiss comes the classic New York Times bestseller on the true case of the past-life therapy that changed the lives of both the prominent psychiatrist and young patient involved—now featuring a new afterword by the author.

As a traditional psychotherapist, Dr. Brian Weiss was astonished and skeptical when one of his patients began recalling past-life traumas that seemed to hold the key to her recurring nightmares and anxiety attacks. His skepticism was eroded, however, when she began to channel messages from the “space between lives,” which contained remarkable revelations about Dr. Weiss’ family and his dead son. Using past-life therapy, he was able to cure the patient and embark on a new, more meaningful phase of his own career. With more than one million copies in print, Many Lives, Many Masters is one of the breakthrough texts in alternative psychotherapy and remains as provocative and timeless as it was when first published.
