People come and go from our lives. And as we change and grow spiritually, we begin to notice that we draw people to us for special reasons. Maybe we have something to offer a friend that no one else can. Maybe a friend has a gift, or a lesson, for us that we wouldn’t have found on our own. There are no coincidences. It’s all part of our journey to experience these people and events at just the time when we are supposed to. Welcome them!

Know the Self as lord of the chariot,
The body as the chariot itself,
The discriminating intellect as charioteer,
And the mind as reins.

“My soul preached to me and said, “Do not be delighted because of praise, and do not be distressed because of blame.’”
-Kahlil Gibran (1883-1931)
There will always be some who appreciate what we do and others who disparage it. The ego is what gets caught up in this game of needing approval. The soul is wise, and knows that life is a balance of opposites. The soul itself can’t be affected by praise or blame.

Who else?
Subdue yourself,
And discover your master.
