💖 Farman Summary: Didar Session 1 – USA 2025 💖
Mawlana Hazar Imam Shah Rahim's Guidance
During the blessed Didar, Mawlana Hazar Imam Shah Rahim graciously designated the Ismaili Center Houston as the Darkhana Jamatkhana of the United States.
In his guidance, the Imam emphasized the imperative of living by the ethics of our faith, reminding the Jamat (community) that:
“Live within the ethics of your faith. It will make you happy, and it will make me happy.”
He firmly advised that we must not intentionally act against the principles of our faith, clarifying that doing so brings disappointment to the Imam.
Mawlana Hazar Imam stated that we should not compete with one another financially, nor should we seek wealth merely for its own sake. If we are blessed with resources—be they material, intellectual, or spiritual—we must use them to care for others. True happiness, the Imam explained, comes from helping and uplifting one another.
He urged the Jamat to compete instead in caring, respect, honesty, humility, and compassion in both professional and personal relationships.
The Imam reminded us that all human beings make mistakes, and that we should learn from our errors, for only Allah is perfect.
He spoke of the power of congregational prayer, encouraging us to attend Jamatkhana regularly, to pray together, and to also engage in private contemplation and reflection.
He blessed the Jamat to call upon the names of Allah, the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), and the Imams.
At the end, the Imam touched every heart with these profound words of love:
“I see some of you with my eyes — but all of you with my heart.” 💚

As received

Today was the first day of Deedar Mubarak for the US Jamat. First of all, congratulations to all those who received the physical Deedar of Mowlana Hazir Imam today.

Those who received it witnessed a very unusual scene, no protocols can stop Imam from showing his love to his Murids.

In today’s Deedar, we probably witnessed for the first time, that too inside a Deedar hall, that Mowla was shaking hands and giving fist bumps to Murids, most of them kids, while walking on the red carpet.

During his arrival and at the time of his departure, he probably shook hands with almost 150-200 Murids. It was a sight to behold. He was giving handshakes, fist bumps, getting on his knees to hug kids, chatting with them, and taking gifts of artworks from them, even keeping them in his pockets. Volunteers looked very tense and confused, but Mowla didn’t tire of shaking hands and hugging kids while the Deedar Hall echoed with the sound of Salwaat.

Many of us, including myself, witnessed the motherly love of the Imam for his Murids.

One thing I would like to mention is that kids will be kids, but some adults were also running and trying to reach the red carpet. I think they should have let Mowla and the kids have that moment alone. Just my humble opinion. Otherwise, it was a very unique, emotional, and divine experience.

May Mowla bless every Ismaili with his Zahiri, Batini, and Noorani Deedar.

Testimony and video shared

Thank you for sharing this beautiful video clip. This was the first Didar gathering in Houston — a truly blessed and historic moment.

What makes it especially moving is that Mawlana Hazar Imam was visibly joyful to see all those who were not permitted inside the Jamatkhana prayer hall, but who had gathered outside, waiting with love and devotion for a glimpse — a Didar — of their Imam.

Hazar Imam will never not be happy to see all Murids who come out of love fr his Didar and Farmans
Hazar Imam not only waved to them warmly from within his car, but also stepped out and continued to greet them with deep affection, love, and radiant happiness.

It was a moment of pure spiritual bond — between the spiritual father and his spiritual children — an expression of prayer worship & devotion that reflects the very essence of Didar and of Bayah

For the Jamat, to see the Imam is Didar - the highest form of worship — to behold his face is to experience love, mercy, and enlightenment.

This moment also reminds us why all those who were outside — around 50 to 100 murids — should have been allowed to join the rest of the Jamat inside the prayer hall, to participate fully in this sacred act of worship shared by all Ismaili Muslims.

We also hope that, in the same spirit of love and inclusivity that Hazar Imam has always shown, our Leaders will now cease withholding Farmans and the full Ismaili Constitution from the Jamat, as Hazar Imam has clearly directed them to do .

Enjoy and share this moment of Imam’s love light blessings mercy and enlightenment

Testimony

his is only a summary — not a verbatim translation of Mawlana Shah Rahim
Hazar Imam’s Farman.
Houston – 7th November, Afternoon
I pray for your spiritual light (roshni), for your material upliftment, and for
balance in your lives.
I have accepted the Bay‘ah. The Bay‘ah reaffirms the permanent spiritual bond
between the Imam of the Time and the Jamat. This bond between the Imam of
the Time and his spiritual children is built on freedom and love.
I care for you.
Even though other Jamats may not be physically present here, all my Farmans
are also for you.
The Ismaili Centre – A Beacon of Hope. It is a symbol of our Jamat’s stability. I
want you and your families to make full use of the Ismaili Centre. These places
are not only meant to look beautiful — yes, they are beautiful — but they are
meant to be used. I want it to become a place of peace, an oaisis of emotion,
mind, and spiritual strength, where loneliness disappears.
The Qur’an teaches us that we are interconnected. Allah wishes that our
relationships remain strong, but our connection with screens is weakening our
human bonds. Social media has been designed to pull people away from one
another. Many countries are now recognizing that the human brain, especially
that of children and adolescents,is being altered in harmful ways due to the
effects of social media, and are introducing laws to restrict its use among
children. As a parent, I too limit the screen time of my children. I want them to
play outdoors —sometimes getting dirty, sometimes even getting hurt — but to
live, experience, and learn.
Smartphones are making us think less rationally. Instead of spending time
scrolling, take a little time to read and reflect. Phones bring anxiety and
isolation.
Reach out to people —come together after Jamatkhana or in social gatherings.
Speak, smile, laugh — it is good for your health. A smile is a gift from Allah, and
I wish for my Jamat’s life to be filled with this gift.
Take care of the elderly and the vulnerable. Stop isolation before it begins.
Take care of your body and mind. Preserve your health before illness arrives. A
lazy or sedentary lifestyle is not good. Allah has created the body to move. So,
move your body.
Do not say, “I will exercise tomorrow, today I am busy,” because tomorrow you
will be busy again. Walk as much as you can. Participate in sports — it is fun
and strengthens you.Your body is a gift from Allah — respect it and take care of
it.
Do not engage in anything that harms your health. Take proper care of your
diet, for the food you eat either nourishes you or leads you toward ill health.
We are a Jamat that strives to make the world a better place.
If you are to care for the weak, you yourself must not become weak — take
care of yourself.
We are a community known for our ethics, honesty, and integrity. Do not ever
break that trust. To stray into unethical behaviour, to leave the straight path
and walk on a crooked one, is harmful and unacceptable. The values of our
faith are universal and humanistic values.
To help those in need, you must first give up greed.
Remember — the soul alone is eternal. Dedicate time to it.
Make remembrance (zikr) a part of your daily life.
Everything you have is by the grace of Allah. Remember Him and express your
gratitude.
Remember Allah, remember the Prophet, and remember the Imams — this
remembrance will bring you true happiness.
I would love to shake hands and fist-bump every child, but since that is not
possible today,
Inshallah, I will return soon and meet all of you.
As Mawla departed, he shook hands with and embraced the children.

Meeting with Hazar Imam Shah Rahim al-Husayni — Multifaith Reception (Friday, November 7th, 2025)

Ya Ali Madad!

We reached the Ismaili Center early in the morning, around 7:30 a.m., hearts already full of anticipation and gratitude. At the registration desk, we received our green wristbands marked with the number 8 — a small token, yet it felt so significant, as if destiny itself had been color-coded for this blessed morning.

At 8 o’clock sharp, the gates opened. After the security check, we were escorted to the lifts that took us to Level 3, where a lovely breakfast awaited us. The atmosphere was warm and filled with smiles — we met so many wonderful people, all from different faiths and walks of life, gathered together in harmony and love. Those two hours flew by in laughter, conversations, and reflection on what this meeting truly meant.

Around 11 a.m., we were guided to a beautiful open terrace area where 16 pods were set up, each with high tables and stools. There must have been about 256 to 270 of us in total. The organizers explained how we would interact with Hazar Imam — to prepare thoughtful, unique questions, and most importantly, to speak from the heart.

Then came the “lockdown.” The air grew still, almost sacred, as we awaited his arrival. And then — at exactly 11:35 a.m. — Hazar Imam entered.

That moment… words fall short. Time stood still. Many of us were in tears, overwhelmed by emotion. To see him — to be in his presence — was surreal. It felt as if the air itself had become light. Our hearts were full… gratitude, humility, and love beyond measure.

The session began with a warm welcome from President Alidina, who expressed his deep appreciation to Hazar Imam and to all of us gathered there. Hazar Imam then spoke — gentle, gracious, full of light — thanking everyone and sharing the purpose behind these multifaith sessions. His words carried wisdom, compassion, and a message of unity that touched every soul present.

Then, the most special part — he began moving from table to table, speaking personally with each group. Smiling, laughing, joking… his warmth filled the entire space. When he reached our table, we could hardly believe it.

President Alidina looked toward us and said, “Hazar Imam, we have a multifaith couple here — both are volunteers.” Hazar Imam turned to us, smiled beautifully, and said, “Thank you for your seva.”

I managed to whisper, “Please give us more blessings, Hazar Imam.”

He looked directly at us and said, “My blessings are always with you.”

In that instant, time dissolved. My wife and I were speechless, hearts overflowing.

He then turned to another member at our table — a very large gentleman — and joked about being fit, saying, “You are a huge man; you are not taking things seriously!” The group burst into laughter. The man’s wife responded, “This is all thanks to Pakistani food,” to which Hazar Imam smiled and said, “I would love to have it too!” His joy, humor, and humility touched everyone.

Another lady asked whether Sunni family members could join Eid namaz at Jamatkhana. Hazar Imam gently said, “Yes.” When the President clarified that she meant participation in congregational prayers, Hazar Imam explained that discussions were ongoing and that guidance would come soon.

Then, my wife, Tabassum, spoke. She said, “Your Highness, may I ask you a question?”

He smiled and said, “Yes, please go ahead.”

She asked, “Your Highness, what is your vision and guidance for multifaith families, and what are your expectations from us?”

He paused, looked at us with fatherly warmth, and asked, “Do you have children?”

We said no. He smiled gently and said, “In shaa Allah, you will. My blessings are always with you.”

He continued, speaking from his heart:
“I am also a father, and I am in that ‘dad mode’ of teaching — to stay true to our values and steadfast in our faith. In any culture, first and foremost, you must be a good human being — have strong faith, and help everyone you can.”

When asked about raising children in multifaith homes, he said, “You can bring up your child in any faith, but whatever faith they are in, their belief must be strong.”

Another couple asked how they could explore Ismaili culture without converting. The President suggested reading available books and materials online, and Hazar Imam echoed that guidance with a kind smile.

He spent more than 12 to 15 precious minutes with our group — laughing, listening, teaching, blessing. I was standing right beside him — so close I could feel the peace radiating from him. It was beyond words — a once-in-a-lifetime moment of grace.

After the session, we were given a beautiful reflection pin — a token of this blessed day — and asked to write our personal reflections about the experience. As we wrote, our hearts were overflowing with gratitude.

When we finally left, it was with tears of joy, hearts brimming with love, peace, and blessings. The experience was spiritual, magical, and profoundly humbling.

Shukar Alhamdulillah. Shukar Mowla.
For this day, for His presence, for His blessings.
We will carry this moment in our hearts forever. 💚

On 7 November, Mawlana Hazar Imam granted two didar sessions, and graciously designated the Ismaili Center Houston as the Darkhana for the US Jamat.

Mawlana Hazar Imam conveyed guidance and blessings for the worldwide Ismaili community, and thanked volunteers for their efforts to organise the visit. He showered blessings on the Jamat and reminded us of his immense love and affection.

The Mukhis of Houston Principal and Austin Jamatkhanas submitted bayʿa to the Imam on behalf of the Jamat, and Al-Karim Alidina, President of the Ismaili Council for USA, also delivered a welcome address.

To commemorate this special occasion, the Central and Southwest jurisdiction Jamats prepared a sustainable art installation entitled Unity in Motion. The installation is one of two sustainability-focused art pieces, crafted entirely from recycled materials. The artwork reflects and celebrates the Jamat’s enduring commitment to environmental stewardship and a greener, more sustainable world.

Hazar Imam later met with multi-faith family members at the newly opened Ismaili Center in Houston.

In the coming days, Hazar Imam will continue to meet with his Jamat from the Southwest and Central USA regions.

Eye witness testimony heard by several 👇

The President of Council admonished Hazar Imam that accepting letters from Jamat and youth is not good . Shah Rahim calmly replied to him that I am the Imam and I know what I am doing and I should not be told what I should be doing . I want my youth to connect with me and the faith , and know that I am here for them .

Mulakat Q&A

1) Q: Ismailis have done so much humanitarian work in the world with Syria as a wonderful example; however, there has been absolutely no support for Palestine or an official stance by Ismaili leadership on Palestine. Why is that the case?
1) A: My father was apolitical and I am also apolitical. I focus on faith rather than politics so I cannot take an official stance on this. But even if I did, what could we do? Build a hospital? (then he inaudibly suggested it would be useless since Israel would destroy the hospital). However, they have reached out and asked me if I would be willing to help with the rebuilding of Gaza and I said yes to that so inshaAllah something is coming there. But the killing of children is not excusable no matter from which side or for any reason. War is bad and I hope it ends. We have some sort of peace and now and we don't know how long it will last, especially after Trump leaves office, but I hope inshaAllah it will last. But either way War is unacceptable and bad.

2) Q: What are we doing to include non-Ismaili multifaith family members in JK? For example: for Easter I can go to a church with my Christian wife but she can't come with me to JK for prayers.
2) A: That is a very good question and one I have heard a few times. We are working on that and we do want to be more inclusive of the multifaith family members.

3) Q: Why is it mandatory to your photo up in our homes and in our bedrooms?
3) A: That is not mandatory and I'm so sorry that you have a photo of ME in YOUR house (everyone LOL'd)

4) Q: Why don't Ismailis fast during Ramadan? And how about praying 5 times a day?
4) A: Many Ismailis fast and you can fast too if you want to. My father would also fast every Ramadan. There's nothing stopping Ismailis and fasting or praying to Namaz. You can pray as much as you want. Why just 5 times a day when you can pray all day! LOL

5) Q: Do you see incorporating Namaz in the Ismaili faith as a form of worship?
5) A: I have received that question a lot and that is coming.

6) Q: How do you suggest we have a work life balance with our families since we are all so busy?
6) A: Family comes first. Balance your life between JK, work, and family but family comes first and education is important. You as a family should work together and give your kids the best value that both of you agree to give. I am in the same position with my children so I understand the struggle. Also your health is important so take the time to keep healthy and workout.

7) Q: How do you suggest raising kids in multifaith family?
7) A: Start with a strong foundation of faith and start with a strong mutual base. Then as they are older, allow them to make their decisions for themselves.

8) Q: Someone asked a question about Fossil fuels and global warming or something. I think he is in oil and gas and wanted to know about job security LOL
8) A: Oil and gas are still in demand yet we are moving to renewable energy in the future. However, the sun will set very slowly on oil and gas, especially for cars. You guys in the right city for oil and gas.

9) Q: When is the next marathon you are running?
9) A: Definitely not the Boston Marathon. I am too late for the NY Marathon. At my age I can really only do 1 per year. Simeen tried to get him to run the Houston Marathon and he was interested since it is in January and runs right by the Ismaili Center.

Pls respond on my behalf below :-

What happened in the Deedar hall in Houston is not just a random “loss of discipline.”
It is the direct result of years of deprivation, control, and emotional starvation , caused by the very leaders who now complain that the Jamat is “undisciplined.”
For decades, the Jamat has been blocked from their Imam:
• Letters never reach Him , they are intercepted
• Murids are moved, redirected, silenced, and pushed away
• Access is treated like a privilege for a few, not a right for all
• People are told not to go to airports, not to gather, not even to stand near blessings
Meanwhile, the same leadership enjoys front-row access, private rooms, handshakes, photo sessions, and special treatment , all while preaching “discipline” and “adab” to the Jamat.
So now what are we seeing?
The youth, especially, are no longer quietly obedient.
They are tired of being treated like third-class murids.
They are tired of hypocrisy.
They are tired of being told “sit quietly and watch from far” while leaders enjoy everything up close.
They are tired of being denied even a moment with their spiritual father.

So yes 🙌 the Jamat ran forward, hugged, waved, handed letters, held his hand…
Because they finally had a chance.
A chance leadership could not block.
We can’t blame the children for running.
We must ask: Who created the hunger?
And the answer is: those who stood between the Imam and the Jamat, for years.
If the Jamat had been treated with dignity,
If they were not cut off from their Imam,
If letters were allowed to reach Him,
If access was shared, not controlled , None of this chaos would exist.
What we’re seeing now is suppressed love exploding.
And as everyone knows:
You can control crowds, but you cannot control the heart of a murid.

United states didar central and southwest region November 5-10th

Post by mahebubchatur »

Houston Didar #3 Summary:

Flow of the Event:
The gathering began with blessings for the Jamat—both those present and the worldwide Jamat. Mowla offered a Ruhani Dua and graciously accepted the Jamat’s Bayat and Mehmani.

Mowla shared that the Mayor of Houston, during the opening of the Ismaili Center, had praised the Ismaili community for its civic engagement and contributions to the city. He expressed pride in the Texas Jamat, noting that it has done very well. Reflecting on the past six decades since the time of his father, he said the Jamat has established strong roots here, and he was pleased to see that the children and grandchildren have continued to excel—some reaching the pinnacle of achievement and knowledge in their professional fields internationally.

Mowla spoke warmly about family life, urging murids to take care of their families and to maintain harmony, love, and support within the home. He reminded the Jamat that a united and caring household leads to a strong Jamat and a stronger future for the community.

He then turned to themes of service, generosity, and planning for the future. Mowla reminded everyone that the purpose of wealth is to be shared with others and that all forms of service—whether through Imamat institutions or civic engagement—are part of the ethics of our faith.

He emphasized the importance of language and encouraged murids to learn and become proficient in additional languages. He also noted that generosity is part of faith and that it begins within the home—through kindness, sharing, and caring for one another.

Mowla spoke with compassion about the needs of seniors, noting that as the Jamat is living longer, it is important that everyone enjoys a good quality of life. He also highlighted financial planning and succession planning—urging murids to prepare for retirement, manage their wealth responsibly, and ensure a smooth transition of family businesses. If children choose other careers, he advised considering selling the business or appointing professional management.

He reminded the Jamat that human life is limited and encouraged everyone to take time each day to pray and reflect. Each murid received a tasbih and was encouraged to use it to pray and remember this blessed occasion—reciting the names of Allah, the Prophet, and the Imams, which brings peace and happiness.

Before concluding, Mowla expressed deep admiration and appreciation for all volunteers, both in uniform and non-uniform, recognizing their time, service, and financial contributions.

Farman Summary:
• Family: Take care of your families and nurture unity and love within your homes. Strong families create strong Jamats.
• Generosity: Give freely—whether to Ismaili institutions or others in need. Charity, both within and beyond the community, carries the same spirit of generosity.
• Financial & Retirement Planning: Prepare for longer lifespans through thoughtful and responsible financial management.
• Succession Planning: Plan ahead for the future of your family businesses and assets, whether by passing them on or arranging proper management.

Audience Reflections:
The atmosphere was warm and deeply emotional. Many murids eagerly offered cards to Mowla—he accepted many of them personally, often handing them to the Mukhi behind him. At one point, he even turned back to accept a card from someone he had initially passed by, a small but touching gesture that reflected his kindness.

A particularly moving moment occurred when a lady, overwhelmed with emotion after the Farman, fell to Mowla’s feet. The entire hall paused as he gently lifted her up and embraced her with compassion. The crowd was deeply moved by this scene, which captured the profound love and bond between the Imam and his murids.

The tone of the Farman was gentle, reflective, and filled with care—a calm and deeply heartfelt message emphasizing family, faith, unity, and thoughtful preparation for the future.

With heartfelt Duas,
Amyn

Eye witness testimony heard by several 👇

The President of Council admonished Hazar Imam that accepting letters from Jamat and youth is not good . Shah Rahim calmly replied to him that I am the Imam and I know what I am doing and I should not be told what I should be doing . I want my youth to connect with me and the faith , and know that I am here for them .
What is most important is Hazar Imam was happy and we must all do what Hazar Imam says in words and shown by example and action. That is what President and Leaders must do and say

A response received :-

What happened in the Deedar hall in Houston is not just random

It is the direct result of years of deprivation, control, and emotional starvation , caused by the very leaders who now complain that the Jamat is “undisciplined.”
For decades, the Jamat has been blocked from their Imam:

a) Letters never reach Him , they are intercepted
b) Murids are moved, redirected, silenced, and pushed away
c) Access is treated like a privilege for a few, not a right for all
d) People are told not to go to airports, not to gather, not even to stand near blessings
Meanwhile, the same leadership enjoys front-row access, private rooms, handshakes, photo sessions, and special treatment , all while preaching “discipline” and “adab” to the Jamat.

The newly-designated Darkhana at the Ismaili Centre Houston was used for the first time yesterday, as Hazar Imam graced the region’s youth with a mulaqat. Earlier in the day, Hazar Imam graciously granted a third didar to complete his visits with the Southwest USA Jamat. Later on, he met with institutional leaders from across the United States.

In celebration of the mulaqat at the Ismaili Centre, postsecondary students from across the country contributed to an art installation entitled Faces of the Future. The artwork is an interactive and innovative piece, representing hundreds of higher education institutions where Ismaili students are enrolled. It highlights how the youth of our Jamat can, in their own ways, make a lasting positive impact on the world around them.

In the afternoon, Hazar Imam met with institutional leaders from across the United States to hear about and offer guidance on priorities and initiatives for the Jamat.

The last few days have been full of emotion, happiness and provided an opportunity for the murids from across the South Western jurisdiction to renew their bayʿa to our beloved Mawlana Hazar Imam.

Later today, Mawlana Hazar Imam will travel to Dallas to meet with the Central USA Jamat. Stay tuned to The Ismaili for more updates: sign up to our email newsletter and follow us on social media.

From a Houston Murid

Ya Ali Madad.

As you know, my aunt is extremely sick and was allowed to go and be in the sick bay area. At first, I didn’t have the opportunity to go in; all of us who were accompanying terminally ill patients were told to go into the waiting room. We followed instructions.

As time went on, we could hear the Salwats coming from the Deedar hall. All of a sudden, a volunteer rushed in and said that Mowla had requested all terminally ill family members to join. I was guided to where my aunt was.

As the firmān was extremely long, I will not go into too much detail, but what I will say is that while Mowla was walking, the love he showered upon the murids was heartwarming. Letters were given to Mowla, and murids were hugging and shaking Mowla’s hand.

Finally, the time had come and Mowla walked into the terminally ill section. My eyes were filled with tears as Mowla gave chanta and individual du‘ā ashish. When Mowla came to me and my aunt, he first gave du‘ā ashish to my aunt and did madhān chanta. He then turned to me and acknowledged that she is my beloved aunt. He gave me du‘ā ashish and said he had accepted all of my seva and would bless me with more seva. He stopped a moment and then asked if I had any wish. I looked unsure, and he encouraged me to tell him. Finally, I said, “Mowla, I wish to do Dast-boosi” (when a murid lovingly kisses Mowla’s hand). The Imam smiled, nodded, and let me kiss his Mubarak hand.

This overwhelming love from the Imam was heart-touching, and I will never forget it.

My daughter attended Youth Mulaqat session 1 and she summarized it:

- It was very very hot in the hall, it was a bit small and people were more but in any case, it was extremely hot, everyone was about to pass out. I ate four candies. So he came and started his farman amd the first thing he said was why is it so hot in here, very unusual for a prayer hall and wiped the sweat from his forehead.
- Then he said that the ismaili center is new for me too just like its for you and we'll soon get used to it. Then he said make good use of the ismaili center and use it as a resource.
- He told us to be fit, play sports and exercise and plan a good diet, same as yesterday, and make good use of being healthy by helping others. He said you may think why i go on about on health again and again, but the reason is youll only be able to help others if youll be healthy yourself.
- He said reduce screentime, stop scrolling and value in person interactions.
- He also told us we are the future of the world. He said to use our wealth properly and help others and make good use of it.
- He said focus on your studies as you are privileged to get quality education.
- He said create a good and harmonious community.
- He emphasized using AI properly and ethically. He said look for jobs that are more human like and will not be replaced by AI. He said he has full trust that we will have a good future.
- He said try coming to jamatkhana and have a tasbih with you.

2025, November 8:

Following is a Deedar Account from a Volunteer in Houston

Our Deedar Experience 💖

When we heard that there were over 11,000 registered volunteers, our hearts began to pound with excitement as the day drew closer. And finally — today! I could hardly sleep; the anticipation was overwhelming. I think I managed maybe an hour of rest before waking up, filled with energy and gratitude.

I got ready and set off for the Deedar Center — the NRG Center, only about 30 minutes from our home in Houston. We arrived around 4:20 a.m., hearts full of love and readiness to serve.

We were Mowla’s volunteers. My assigned duty was inside the feeder hall, by the chairs section 🪑, assisting anyone in need — no matter how big or small their request.

Throughout the morning, my heart overflowed with joy and love. ❤ I continuously recited salwaat, soaking in the spiritual atmosphere around me.

At approximately 9:30 a.m., the moment we had all been waiting for arrived — Mowla Bapa entered the Deedar hall. Everyone immediately became still, and the air filled with salwaat from every corner — even the little ones joined in!

Mowla Bapa looked radiant, dressed in a dark suit with a red tie. The Jamat was calm and respectful as the Mukhi, Kamadia, and Mukhiani Mas followed a few steps behind.

When Mowla Bapa reached the stage, he took his seat. The Mukhi Saheb then presented a beautiful chain, placing it lovingly around Bapa’s neck. A verse from the Holy Qur’an, along with its English translation, was recited.

Then, the Principal JK Mukhi reaffirmed the Bay‘at to our beloved Imam. Following the sacred rituals, Mowla Bapa rose and graciously accepted the Bay‘at.

In his Farman, Mowla Bapa was radiant with happiness. He bestowed countless blessings upon the entire Jamat, filling every heart with peace and gratitude. He reminded us — with both love and firmness — to live by the ethics and principles of our faith. He emphasized this message several times, saying:

“Everyone makes mistakes — only Allah is perfect.”

After the Farman, Mowla Bapa was so gracious with everyone — especially the children. He lovingly shook the hands of many kids, smiling and blessing them. Then, he visited the Sick Bay, spending several minutes — about 10 minutes — visiting each bed and offering blessings. (The cameras weren’t fully focused there, but we could feel his presence and compassion.)

As Mowla Bapa passed by us once again, I found myself completely absorbed in the Noor — his eyes were filled with light, energy, and boundless love. ❤ I felt the entire space glowing with spiritual enlightenment, and my heart knew that these moments would remain with me forever.

I also kept reciting salwaat in my heart and kept my family in my prayers — I tried to include by name all other family members from the USA, Canada, London, and Africa. I had all our loved ones in my thoughts and remembered as many friends as I could.

There was also an elderly lady I was helping as a volunteer that morning. She mentioned her legs were hurting, and though I didn’t know her personally, I prayed for her mushkil aasan — for her ease and comfort.

In Mowla Bapa’s Farman, he also stressed the importance of being regular in attendance at Jamat Khana and of remembering Allah, Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), and all the Imams. As a sign of his love and guidance, Mowla Bapa presented a beautiful gift — a Tasbih — to everyone, so that we may remember Allah and all the Imams in our daily lives.

Yesterday, Saturday, November 8th, an announcement was made in Jamat Khana that the Tasbih and the Juro which Mowla Bapa had blessed will be distributed on the upcoming Chandraat.

I also had in my prayers all the Global Volunteers even though I may not know them personally by name.
I sincerely hope I haven’t made any mistakes in this writing.

Mubarakis to everyone on this truly auspicious day.
(Mowla announced that the Ismaili Center of Houston is now the Darkhanna for the entire USA.)

Once again, Mubarakis to all!

Thank you and Ya Ali Madad.

It’s unbelievable that some people are now questioning the Imam Himself, as if they know better than the One they claim to follow.
Let it be very clear:
The Imam is not just “appointed.”
He is not just a leader or guide.
He is the Lord Himself, the Divine Light in human form the One through whom creation continues to exist.
He is the Source of adab, not someone who needs to be taught it.
He is the Origin of ethics, not someone who needs correction.
He is the Lord of all the worlds , visible and invisible, seen and unseen.

So when murids ran to Him, cried before Him, tried to hand Him letters, or reached out for a handshake, they were not being disrespectful.
They were responding to the pull of the Divine Noor, not breaking “protocol.”
The real disrespect is not in the love of the Jamat.
The real arrogance is in those who think they can:
• instruct the Imam,
• limit the Imam,
• correct the Imam,
• or behave like they have authority over the Imam’s actions.

That is the true superiority complex.
If the Lord Himself stopped for His Jamat
who are we to say “they should not have gone near Him”?
If the Lord Himself accepted their letters, who are we to say “that is not allowed”?

If the Lord Himself gave fist bumps and handshakes,
who are we to say “this is not spiritual decorum”?

The answer is simple:
Those who are still trying to control access to the Imam have forgotten who the Imam is.

2025, November 9:

Youth Mulaqat Nov 9
At the beginning of his farman, Hazar Imam immediately started with “this is the first time I havent gotten a high five, I thought I did something wrong” loud laughter from the jamat

He then started again with “my beloved spiritual children” and offered lots of blessings he said that this has been a happy morning for him and that he was very happy to see us there.
He talked out ismaili centre and making great use of this place - to study, to play, to socialize. He said this ismaili center is for yours to use. He also mentioned that there will soon be a basketball and pickleball court that will soon be open for use.

Faith and Life
* He started with your faith and life being one and not separate and also encouraging coming to khane even though our lives get very busy
* Being Kind and generous
Education
* He said that your parents and grandparents have done a wonderful job at building a foundation for your education - they’ve taken care of you when you when you were young, so you should take care of them as they grow older as well
* Continue to refresh your skillset bc you’ll need them in a world revolving around AI
* He talked about AI becoming a large part of our lives and careers but also emphasized that our empathy cannot be replaced by that
* He encouraged finding careers that focus on empathy and service

Education
* He emphasized reading a lot
* Further your learning in whatever way whether its through formal education or independently
Social media
* He spoke about getting off of phones and limiting social media use - he said “dont get your news from social media” and then paused and side eyed and laughed and the jamat started laughing with him and then he said “okay not all social media but still pick up a book for education and for fun”
Physical and mental health
* He said to put phones down and go interact one another - play sports
He ended with lots of blessings

Farman on Departure
* Imam seemed a little emotional as he mentioned that this whole experience has been very moving for him
* He said that he got to meet a lot of youth and have conversations with them
* “Inshallah I will be back soon and we’ll have more conversations”

This Imam said "Hi and Blessings" - People will have to get used to an Imam that does not follow protocols of the past but guides his Murids according to the Time. :-)

AS RECEIVED:

Ya Ali Madad everyone,

I’ve been reflecting on the recent Didar in Houston and wanted to share some personal thoughts, especially after seeing a number of comments here and elsewhere about what took place and whether it was “appropriate.”

Before I continue, please know that these are my personal observations and reflections. I am not attempting to justify everything that happened, only to share my perspective as someone who was there and deeply moved by the experience.

I was working at the center prior to the Didar, and one thing that stood out was how much responsibility was given to the younger members of the Jamat. They played a significant role in both planning and executing the event, which was wonderful to see.

On the first day of Didar, the youth volunteers aged 8 to 14 (who would be attending Session 2) were lined up from the entrance of the hall all the way to the exit of the center where Mowla’s car was waiting. When Mowla exited, he thanked the young volunteers for their service — shaking their hands, giving high fives, and even fist bumps.

When the kids returned upstairs, they were filled with joy — excitedly saying they would never wash their hands again and sharing their stories of meeting the Imam. It was amazing to see and hear their reactions — and as a parent of children who were fortunate enough to participate, I was deeply moved.

Later, during the Didar, as Mowla entered the hall, some youth handed him notes and drawings, which he graciously accepted and placed in his pocket. As he continued walking, more children reached out their hands, offering cards or simply hoping to touch his hand.

After the Farman, the Imam ad-libbed and said (paraphrased): “I will try my best to shake hands and fist bump as many as I can, but if I am unable to, I will be back soon.” I believe this gave the children — and even some adults — the confidence to reach out, hoping for that connection. Some adults, perhaps taking it too far, lifted their babies up toward him.

My Thoughts

If Mowla had been uncomfortable with the interaction — the youth handing him cards or reaching out their hands — I believe he would have asked the Mukhi to make an announcement addressing it. Instead, his own words seemed to encourage that warmth and connection.

At the end of Session 2, youth volunteers from Session 1 were also present, and again, Mowla greeted them with handshakes and high fives. Some even asked for his autograph, which he kindly gave.

To me, this shows that our Imam of the Time has a unique and genuine way of connecting with the youth — one that is very different from what many of us have experienced before. I think it’s remarkable. I only wish I had the courage to express myself as openly and lovingly as those children did. It was unfamiliar, yes — but incredibly moving.

Other Interactions I Heard About

• Session 1: As Mowla was walking, he noticed a Jamati member in a velvet suit and commented, “Amazing suit.”

• Post Session 2: When Mowla was with the President (as seen on the big screen), he was smiling and laughing while handing over the cards he had received.

• Session 3: A lady fell at Mowla’s feet, and he gently helped her up and gave her blessings.

• Youth Mulaqat: Initially, no one high-fived him. When he stood up to deliver the Farman, he said he was sad that no one gave him a high five. As he exited, all the youth reached out to high-five him, and he joyfully returned the gesture.

Final Reflection

I believe we are living in a new age with our Imam — one where he is expressing his affection in ways that may feel unfamiliar to us, but are clearly meaningful to him. We should not rush to judge what is “appropriate.” If something were not, I trust that Mowla himself would guide us accordingly.

I sincerely hope my message does not offend anyone. I simply wanted to share what I witnessed and felt. It saddens me that some of the most beautiful and joyful moments of Didar — moments that touched so many hearts — are being overshadowed by criticism.

This Didar was a blessing for all who attended, and I hope we can hold onto that collective gratitude and joy.

2025, November 9: Mawlana Shah Rahim Aga Khan V departed Houston for Dallas. As he left, he paused to greet the security guards with warmth and said, “Hi — blessings to all.”

The Imam is Light — the Divine Light — and that Light shines for everyone. His blessings are not limited of for a few selected. His light role and divine authority are universal, conveying Allah’s will and guiding all souls towards the right path - inclusion pluralism understanding, harmony, and upliftment.

Through his murids, and his Farmans, the Imam’s mission is not exclusivity, but inclusivity — to serve humanity at large through divine Farmans faith, compassion, and pluralism.

Even as some leaders still continue to withhold the Constitution, the Farmans, and access to free and informed worship, - Didar of the Imam himself is showing — by his words, actions, and example — that the spirit of the Imamat cannot be contained by secrecy mystification or control by a few

His presence and His actions during this visit to the United States, and throughout the Didars, have exemplified made this clear: Imam’s Light Nur and example is to share and Uphold by all . 🌿✨

Dear Chaturbhai

I completely 👍 the time has truly come for the Jamat to align with what Hazar Imam Himself shows us through His actions, words, and Farmans. The love, warmth, and openness He displayed in Houston are a direct reflection of His guidance. Those who truly read and internalize His Farmans will understand that this is the Imam’s way to draw hearts nearer, not to build barriers.

You expressed it so beautifully…..we must follow what the Imam says and does, not what others interpret or try to control.
