In a historic moment earlier today, Mawlana Hazar Imam granted a didar for the Jamat of Continental Europe, marking the first-ever didar in Germany.
The Mukhi of Berlin Jamatkhana submitted bayʿa to Mawlana Hazar Imam on behalf of the Jamat, after which Jamati Mukhi-Kamadias and Student Mukhi-Kamadias presented mehmani to Hazar Imam.
Following the didar, Hazar Imam was presented with the gift of a mosaic wall art piece.
The mosaic is composed of 12 pieces structured around the visit motif. Each piece was made from recycled objects, and represents the culture and heritage of the Jamat from the 12 countries in Europe with the largest Jamati settlements.
Later in the day, Hazar Imam was joined by Prince Aly Muhammad for an institutional reception with Jamati leaders and staff.
“We offer our most heartfelt shukrana for the profound blessing of Hazar Imam’s presence amongst us today,” said Naushad Jivraj, President of the Ismaili Council for the United Kingdom. “We are deeply grateful that Hazar Imam has accepted the invitation to meet the leaders of your Jamati Institutions across Continental Europe. Your presence reenergises our collective commitment to seva and service to the Jamat, and to advance the work of the Imamat.”
In his remarks, Hazar Imam thanked attendees and their families for their service to the Jamat and wider society.
“I will start by expressing my gratitude to all of you for the work that you’re doing for the benefit of the Jamat in Continental Europe,” he said. “I know that it comes with great sacrifice as far as your personal lives and family lives and professional lives are concerned, and so I’m deeply grateful for the work that you’re doing.”
Before departing the venue, Hazar Imam met with project leads and junior volunteers involved in today’s event to thank them for their work.

Re: MHI Visit Germany 4th and 5th. Deedar on 5th July
2026, July 5: : AS Received:
Summary of the Farman Mubarak – Berlin, Germany (5 July 2026)
"This is the first Deedar where we've had applause. This is also the first Deedar ever in Germany. This makes it a historic moment for me, and for our community. "
Mawlana Hazar Imam repeatedly expressed his deep love for the Jamat, accepted the Bay'ah as an eternal spiritual bond, and gaves blessings for courage, health, unity, Mushkil Asan, and the souls of departed murids.
Murids migrated to Europe after leaving difficult circumstances. The Imam praised their resilience, encouraged them to build successful new lives, and reassured them that the Imam, AKDN, and Jamati institutions will continue supporting them.
He thanked the German government for welcoming the Jamat and highlighted over 30 years of cooperation between AKDN and Germany. He announced plans to establish a formal institutional presence of the Imamat in Germany. Said Europe is a place offering safety, religious freedom, education, healthcare, and opportunity.
Remember Allah daily, remain grateful in all circumstances, and stay firm on Sirat al-Mustaqim, draw strength from faith during both hardship and success
The Imam encouraged unity across different cultural backgrounds, regular contact with fellow murids, learning local languages (especially English), lifelong education, vocational skills, and positive integration into society without compromising Ismaili identity.
The Farman strongly emphasized honesty, integrity, respect for the laws of the land, and mutual respect within families. As in previous Farmans, He explicitly stated that there is no place for domestic abuse in the Jamat, encourages seeking help when needed, and stressed physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being.
Murids are encouraged to care for their bodies, avoid harmful habits, participate in sports, and use physical activity to build friendships and reduce stress.
The Imam clarified that no one is authorized to represent the Imam or the Imamat outside the framework of officially appointed institutions and leaders, reaffirming the institutional structure of the community.
At the conclusion, he accepted the Mehmanis and Nazrana, said that the Nazrana will benefit the European Jamat, thanked volunteers and donors, urged forgiveness for any shortcomings during the event, and gifted every murid a Tasbih as a reminder of the personal and eternal spiritual bond with the Imam. At the end, Mowlana Hazar Imam gave blessings for peace, Mushkil Asan, unity, good health, and steadfastness on Sirat al-Mustaqim.
