Re: Eastern Canada Deedar and vist March 25-31

At the invitation of Prime Minister Mark Carney, Mawlana Hazar Imam will undertake an official visit to Canada from 25 to 31 March 2026, during which he will meet with the Jamat residing in Ontario, Quebec, and the Maritime Provinces.
In a Talika Mubarak read in Jamatkhanas worldwide, Hazar Imam said he plans to visit the country again in the near future to meet with his Jamat residing in Western Canada.
To be able to focus his attention on the Jamat in Ontario, Quebec, and the Maritimes, Hazar Imam does not wish members of the Jamat from other parts of Canada, or from other countries, to travel to these provinces during his visit.

Members of the Jamat are invited to contribute a small colourful piece of traditional fabric from your country of origin. Only a small piece is needed, approximately 8 inches by 8 inches. Together, these fabric pieces will be brought into a single collective artwork that honours the many cultures, languages, and traditions that make up the Canadian Jamat. Individually distinct, yet woven together, the final piece will stand as a visual expression of unity and shared identity.
Fabric donation bins have been placed in Jamatkhana social halls. The deadline to donate is *February 28, 2026*.

DROPS OF MERCY: ART ACTIVITY

Description
In honour of his historic Canada Visit, we invite the Jamat and inter-faith family members to take part in a collective art activity that brings generations together through creativity and reflection.
Over the coming weeks, you will have the opportunity to participate in a simple art activity. Each group will create a small piece of art by tracing and decorating Arabic calligraphy of the name “Rahim” in the shape of a raindrop. Rahim – meaning Merciful - is the blessed name of our Imam. We are deeply grateful to have the mercy of the Imamat ever-present in our lives — mercy that surrounds us, nurtures us, and connects us across generations.
The raindrop shape draws on Qur’anic imagery of rain as a source of life, renewal, and compassion —reminding us how mercy gathers us, drop by drop, into one community.
Once completed, participants will have a photo of their artwork taken. These photos will be brought together into a mosaic mural representing multigenerational moments from our Jamat across Canada. This mural will be displayed as part of a larger art installation at one of the Mulaqats.
All are welcome - Children, youth, adults, and seniors are encouraged to participate together. No artistic experience is required - only your presence and intention.
Event Date & Time: Please check your Jamatkhana communication channels for details in your region.
To explore additional artistic opportunities in honour of the Canada Visit, please visit the Art Installations https://iicanada.org/visit/getinvolved/artinstallations page.

SUKOON / سکون - JOURNEY TO DIDAR II
Description
The session invites learners to explore Bay’ah not only as a historical act of allegiance, but as a living covenant that continues to shape the identity and spiritual consciousness of the murid. Through reflection and dialogue, learners will consider how Bayʿah renews their awareness of the Imam-of-the-time guidance and their own responsibility within that sacred relationship. Grounded in this understanding, learners will connect the experience of Didar to the enduring covenant of loyalty, recognizing Bayʿah as both a personal commitment and a unifying bond across the global Jamat.

- Management of medical equipment such as feeding tubes, IV lines, catheters, or ostomy bags
- Monitoring breathing, comfort, and vital signs
- Support for known behavioural or emotional health needs
- Comfort-focused care for individuals with serious illnesses, including pain or symptom relief
The HMN team does not:
- Treat serious or complex emergencies on-site (transport to a hospital will be arranged, if required)
- Perform advanced procedures like placing breathing tubes or major IV lines
- Provide intensive life-saving treatments beyond basic emergency support
CAREGIVER SUPPORT
If you rely on a caregiver for support, please visit the Caregivers page https://iicanada.org/visit/informationforyou/caregivers for more information on registration and the support in place to help you feel comfortable throughout the Visit.

INFORMATION FOR YOU
MEDICAL SERVICES

As we prepare to welcome our beloved Mawlana Hazar Imam to Canada, medical supports are being thoughtfully arranged to help ensure that all Jamati members, including those with special medical needs can attend the Didar safely, with dignity and peace of mind.
A dedicated Medical Services Team will be on-site during the Didar, including First Aid, an Urgent Care Centre (UCC), mental health support, and a High Medical Needs (HMN) Area for pre-registered members requiring advanced care.
During the registration process, please indicate if you or a member of your household has special medical needs so that appropriate support can be arranged in advance.
WHAT TO BRING
Please bring the following items with you on the day of the Didar:
Medical Information & Supplies:
- Your health card or medical insurance information

MEDICAL SUPPORT ON-SITE
First Aid
Trained volunteers will be able to provide basic first aid for minor concerns, such as minor injuries, dizziness, headaches, or dehydration. Anyone requiring further medical assessment will be directed to the Urgent Care Centre.
If you feel unwell during the Didar, please notify a First Aid volunteer, in a red vest or red arm band, or ask a volunteer to call for medical assistance. Medical teams will be positioned throughout the venue and will respond promptly.
Urgent Care Centre (UCC)
The UCC will be available on-site to:
- Assess and manage unexpected medical issues during the Didar
- Coordinate with Emergency Medical Services (EMS) if required
The UCC is staffed by trained healthcare professionals who can provide medical assessment and basic treatment. It is not intended for ongoing or complex medical care and does not replace emergency services.
If a hospital transfer is required, ambulance services will be arranged. If ambulance transfer is not required, a family member will be asked to assist with transportation.
Mental Health Support
- Calm corners and low-stimulation spaces will be available
- Emotional and mental health support is available and optional
- No prior registration is required
-All interactions will remain confidential and respectful
High Medical Needs (HMN) Area
HMN Area will be available during the Didar ceremonies only. Participants using this area must remain there until the Didar concludes.
Use of the HMN Area requires advanced registration. During the registration process, if you have indicated that you require additional medical support, you will be identified and contacted directly by the Medical Assessment Team (MAT). Walk-in requests cannot be accommodated.
If you indicate during registration that you have special medical needs, you will be contacted after registration closes on March 1 to determine eligibility for the HMN Area. Outreach will take place in alignment with regional Didar schedules: members attending in Eastern Canada will be contacted shortly after March 1, while those attending in Western Canada will be contacted closer to the date of their regional Didar.
The HMN Area is for individuals who:
- Require ongoing medical care or close supervision due to illness or disability
- Need assistance with IV medications, medical equipment, breathing support, or similar care that cannot be managed by family members
- Require regular assistance with daily activities (e.g., eating, toileting, mobility), particularly when more than one caregiver is needed
Participation in the HMN Area requires confirmation from a doctor that the individual is medically stable and safe to attend. Relevant medical and care details will need to be shared with the HMN team in advance to ensure appropriate preparation and support.
The HMN team can help with:
- Regular or ‘as-needed’ medication, including IV medications
- Management of medical equipment such as feeding tubes, IV lines, catheters, or ostomy bags
- Monitoring breathing, comfort, and vital signs
- Support for known behavioural or emotional health needs
- Comfort-focused care for individuals with serious illnesses, including pain or symptom relief
The HMN team does not:
- Treat serious or complex emergencies on-site (transport to a hospital will be arranged, if required)
- Perform advanced procedures like placing breathing tubes or major IV lines
- Provide intensive life-saving treatments beyond basic emergency support
